CRASH COURSE
The next slides will clarify the few basic concepts used in this app. It should not take long.
LET'S STARTWHAT IS A
RECORD?
Every time money go out (expenses) or come in (incomes) a record must be added into this app.
Accurate data is required to get the bigger picture needed to make informed decisions.
The reward of adopting such consistent habit will be a solid personal financial situation. For example areas of improvement will be easy to spot.
WHAT IS A
BUDGET?
Some expenses are constant, such as the apartment rent. Other expenses vary. It's harder to control money dedicated to groceries for example.
Setting a monthly budget might be helpful. Among other things, it will avoid spending too much in an area, resulting in "forced" constraints in another.
Would you be happy to cancel your summer holidays because you overspent on restaurants during spring?
WHAT IS THE
YEARLY
SAVINGS
PLAN?
There are bills that only come once a year. Ever heard about income taxed? Car insurance?
By registering these expenses in the yearly savings plan, the app will suggest an amount to be saved monthly. This will help avoiding sudden shocks.
WHAT IS THE
LEDGER?
Like a cashier book, it contains all your transactions (expenses and incomes), your budgets and plans.
If needed, you can have more than one. For example, one for your family finances, and another one for your small business that you are trying to start. Some people wants to keep things clearly separated.
You can share them if you want. With your spouse for example. Because you both do groceries, right?
WHAT IS THE
KNOWLEDGE
SECTION
FOR?
If you ever filled income taxes, you know there are "tricks" that can improve the situation. If you ever read about marketing and persuasion techniques, you know it was harder to persuade you after that.
The knowledge section allows users to share tips and discuss. As a very simple community, its objective is to empower each other on financial aspects.
